Soapbox Childrens Theatre Plymouth
About us
SPECIALIST THEATRE
Stiltskin’s Soapbox Children’s Theatre is one of a handful of specialist theatres creating cultural projects for children and their families in Britain. As storytellers we develop pieces of theatre from well-known stories and write and produce new work. We write, design and perform all of our own material.
THEATRE GIFT SHOP
Within the theatre we have a super, independent toy shop, which is a great addition to the Soapbox foyer, with lovely, colourful toys that will bring plenty of joy for years to come for you and your children.
Our toys range from role play to storytelling, making and creating, science experiments and fossils and we also have a lovely range of East of India gifts for the home. We are usually open during the week between 10am & 1pm, please call beforehand just to make sure we are there and we are always open on show days.
At present, due to Covid, we are offering a delivery service of toys. You can browse through our catalogue in the Box-Office and order online. We may even deliver on our super electric bikes.
THEATRE FOYER
Our Theatre foyer offers tea, great coffee and snacks. We will soon be offering light vegetarian and vegan meals. We have a licensed bar for functions at the theatre.
Stiltskin have recently licensed the grounds around the theatre for outdoor events. We will be creating a huge labyrinth in the field next to the theatre and a fairy village in the Spellbound Wood behind the theatre. We hope you enjoy these gifts. Don’t forget to offer the fairies a dandelion or daisy just to let them know you’re here.
If you have an event and would like to know about hiring the theatre please do get in touch. We can support your corporate function with tea and coffee, projection screen and free wi-fi. The theatre is also available for hire for private parties and functions.
